A new Premier League star has been tipped to beat Lionel Messi to the Ballon d’Or title within the next three years.
Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Jesus, who will officially join Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in January, has been hailed as a major talent and is already a full international at just 19 years old.
The striker has been tipped by many for greatness, and his former junior coach Jose Francisco Mamede believes Jesus can lift the Ballon d’Or crown in the next few years.
« Gabriel came from a very poor neighbourhood and that’s why he’s not afraid, » Mamede told AFP.
« He will adapt to the food, to the cold in Manchester and everything else.
« In three years, he’ll win the Ballon d’Or, because (Lionel) Messi will already be getting a bit old.
« From the very first training session, we saw he was different. He never lacked anything. He’d be the first to do the exercises.
