Latest Everton recruit, Gylfi Sigurdsson has made a promise to give his best for the Toffees once he starts playing.
The 27-year-old midfielder has gone ahead to vow that he will “create goals” and “score goals” for the ambitious Toffees.
And that is after finalizing a club-record switch to Goodison Park on a five-year contract from Swansea City late Wednesday.
Everton have announced they have signed the attacking midfielder from the Welsh club in a club record deal worth £45million.
The Toffees have gone ahead to confirm they have landed the signature of the Icelandic international on a five-year contract.
Infact, the Merseyside outfit have also made the confirmation of the capture of the play-maker on their official Twitter handle.
The Premier League club posted on Twitter: “Everton can confirm the signing of midfielder, Gylfi Sigurdsson on a five-year deal from Swansea City.
Everton manager, Koeman had made it clear that he still wanted about three players before this summer transfer window ends.
And that is inspite of the Toffees having gone ahead to land the signatures of seven quality players so far.
But they have now gone ahead to sign their eighth signing of the current summer transfer window after capturing Sigurdsson.
Koeman has revealed that he actually rates Sigurdsson as one of the best midfielders in the world of football.
The Netherlands gaffer has also disclosed that he is very happy to have finally ended his stalemate with the Swans.
And that is over the landing of the signature of the Icelandic star from the Welsh outfit this summer window.
“Everton will see the best of me” – Sigurdsson
Sigurdsson on his own part has made a disclosure that he is keen to give what his new coach expects.
“Hopefully, I will continue to create goals and score goals for the team.
“And also contribute to the kind of success that we all are seeking at this great club,” Sigurdsson told Evertontv.
“This is an ambitious club and it is clear we are moving in a really good direction.
“The most important thing is that Everton keep winning games and climbing the table and do that throughout the season.
“I’d like to score as many goals as possible and create as many goals for my teammates as I can.
“These are my targets, it’s always the same thing, as long as we are winning, I’ll be more than happy.” Sigurdsson concluded.
