Paris Saint-Germain had to settle for second spot in Group A after a 2-2 draw with Ludogorets in their Champions League clash on Tuesday.
The visitors made the ideal start to the clash in the 15th minute when Virgil Misidjan broke the deadlock against the run of play with a header from inside the box.
The Parisians created an opportunity in the 21st minute as Thiago Motta reacted quickly at a corner but his left-footed volley went just past the near post.
Ten minutes before the half-time interval PSG came within inches of levelling matters. Thiago Silva rose highest from a corner and his header looked set to find the back of the net, but it cannoned off the post instead.
PSG finally had their equalising goal in the 61st minute in dramatic fashion. Angel Di Maria’s cross was not dealt with properly by Cicinho and Edinson Cavani pounced with a sublime overhead kick.
However, their celebrations were short-lived as Ludogorets restored their lead eight minutes later. Marquinhos made a mistake at the back and Jonathan Cafu jumped on the opportunity before setting up Wanderson who fired home.
In the dying minutes of the clash PSG produced another equaliser as Di Maria slotted a cool finish after Kurzawa played him in, but it wasn’t enough to beat Arsenal to the top of the group.
