Pirates Returning To Rectify Poor Ending To 2016

Orlando Pirates have confirmed that the players are due to report to training today to begin their preparations for the remainder of the 2016/17 season.

The Buccaneers have been inconsistent with their results in the first-half of the season, with the side slipping to 10th place on the PSL log, after winning only four of their 13 games so far in the campaign.

Bucs took to their official website to confirm the return of the team under coach Augusto Palacios and his technical team.

« The Orlando Pirates First Team players are due to report to training this morning to kick-start preparations for the New Year. With the holiday season now over, it is time for the technical team to knuckle down to some serious business for the year ahead.

« Head Coach Augusto Palacios and his charges are well aware of the challenge that lies ahead following a poor ending to 2016, with two back-to-back defeats at the hands of Maritzburg United and Bloemfontein Celtic respectively.

« The Mighty Buccaneers have slumped to tenth place on the log table, seven points adrift log leaders SuperSport United. »

For their first game of the year, Bucs are scheduled to visit Platinum Stars for an Absa Premiership game at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on February 8.
