Modise remains an important player for Sundowns, says Mosimane

The 34-year-old midfielder’s Sundowns contract is set to expire in June 2017 and it is believed that he will be leaving the 2016 CAF Champions League winners.

However, Mosimane has disclosed that Modise is yet to inform them about his possible departure from the reigning Absa Premiership champions.

« I don’t know if he’s leaving. Is it? Okay, but he hasn’t told us, » Mosimane said on KickOff.com.

« He hasn’t told us, he hasn’t told you, but I’m not saying he didn’t say that [he’s leaving].

« I don’t say he didn’t say that. All I’m saying is that now it’s big games [coming up], big games you need big players, experienced players, » he added.

« Teko comes in a few minutes he helps us. »

Modise, who is a former South Africa international, joined Sundowns from Orlando Pirates midway through the 2010/11 campaign.

He has won the CAF Champions League title, Absa Premiership title twice, Nedbank Cup and Telkom Knockout Cup with the Brazilians.
