Kaizer Chiefs accumulated their fifth straight win this weekend after defeating Highlands Park 1-0 in Durban. However, the match was not without its calamities.
Lorenzo Gordinho, who has been at the center of action for Kaizer Chiefs this season, was the headline act at the Moses Mabhida Stadium this weekend as Chiefs walked away the victors thanks to a goal from Lorenzo Gordinho.
However, Gordinho also collected his fourth straight yellow card, putting him on the suspension list for Chiefs’ next game. Steve Komphela, however, told the Amakhosi website that this was not a concern for him:
“Erick Mathoho was suspended for the Highlands Park match and that resulted in Daniel Cardoso coming in to replace him, he’s been doing well. We have a squad of 32 players and everyone can play.”
Gordinho’s goal in Durban takes his tally to four for the season, making “Freedom” the joint top goal scorer for the team – on par with Siphiwe Tshabalala and Willard Katsande.
