Coach Mike Mutebi’s KCCA FC have maintained the lead in the Azam Uganda Premier League after matches played last weekend.
KCCA FC traveled to Masaka District where they drew 1-1 with arch-rivals SC Villa who are in second place. Geoffrey Sserukuma scored KCCA FC’s goal to take his League scoring tally to 17, while Emmanuel Okwi was on the score sheet for the home side.
The Ugandan giants who also qualified for the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup lead the table with 48 points with a better goal difference than SC Villa also have the same number of points, but played three games more.
“We are not relaxing, but taking every game very seriously because we want to retain the League title,” Mutebi told AfricanFootball.com.
Mutebi’s side that has settled for draws in their last two League matches will hosts Vipers SC on Tuesday at the Philip Omondi Stadium.
At the bottom of the log JMC Hippos FC have only seven points. Lweza FC, Sadolin Paints FC, The Saints FC, Kirinya Jinja SSS FC, Police FC and Bright Stars FC are also battling to avoid relegation the the lower Division.
