Former Sporting Anderlecht player Cheik Tioté, 30, died after suffering a discomfort in training with his Beijing BG club in China, according to several Chinese media.

The Ivorian international had worn the Anderlechtois jersey for three seasons between 2005 and 2008.
He then left Sporting to play in the Netherlands, in Roda where he was loaned by the club of Brussels, then Twente, where he exploded. Transferring to Newcastle in 2010, he shone on the Premier League until February 2017 when he joined the Beijing BG in China.
