‘Chiefs Are Known For Their Great History…Finishing This Season Without Silverware Would Be Unforgivable’

Currently placed in fourth position on the ABSA Premiership log standings with 36 points after 21 rounds of league action, Kaizer Chiefs are three points behind leaders Cape Town City. Amakhosi’s previous match against Baroka FC over the past weekend, where the team were held to a two-all draw, left a bitter taste in the mouths of the Black and Gold faithful.

One supporter expressed his concerns and questioned whether the team under the tutelage of Steve Komphela will be able to secure any silverware for the 2016/17 season.

“With Steve Komphela’s charges dropping so many points, it’s questionable whether they will manage to win silverware this season because they don’t look like a hungry team. Instead they are playing like a mediocre club that’s not interested in winning trophies.

“Chiefs are known for their great history and therefore winning trophies is part of their culture. Moreover, considering that last season they didn’t win anything, finishing this season without silverware would be unforgivable.” – Jonnybee50

Kaizer Chiefs’ next league battle is against African champions Mamelodi Sundowns in a home league encounter where the team will seek to stay in contention for the title.
