New Bafana Bafana call-up, Lars Veldwijk, and his Kaizer Chiefs counterparts will only team up with the South African national team later this afternoon.
Veldwijk, whose father was born in Mzansi, stepped foot in the country for the first time this week after being called up by Shakes Mashaba for the clash with Senegal, and will be hoping to try and make an immediate impact.
However, with some final aspects of his paperwork still to be finalised, the 25-year-old will only make the trip to Polokwane later today after the bulk of the team jetted out this morning.
Joining the Dutchman on the later flight will be the Amakhosi trio of Itumeleng Khune, Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Erick Mathoho after their Telkom Knockout exit in Durban yesterday, while SuperSport United’s Ronwen Williams will also be flying into Polokwane with them.
Meanwhile, Senegal’s side are set to touchdown in Limpopo at some stage tomorrow as they begin their preparations for Saturday’s encounter at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, with the game set to get underway at 15h00.
